Rippa Rugby
This Year, I did Rippa Rugby down at the Mt Wellington War Memorial Reserve or Dunkirk for short. I did Rippa Rugby last year as well, But I don’t think I Blogged about it. So far I’ve only done 2 sessions. But my teacher Mr Bell Said we should do it anyway.
Our first session was in term one, We did it on the last day of school. We walked for about 15 minutes before we got down to Dunkirk. Since everyone in Room 7 had already done it before, The session wasn’t about learning how to play, It was about basic Rugby skills. St Patricks wasn’t the only school who attended the training, Panmure Bridge and Tamaki primary were there too.
We got split up into groups, The boys and the girls were split into two groups.
The boys group had all the naughty kids so I knew Our session was going to be way longer than all the others, Mostly because of arguing. The person who had the boys for today was Coach Johnny.
We just did some standard Rippa Rugby exercises, They were very similar to last year. Most of the exercises took a while to start because of the boys arguing. Anyways, at the end of all the exercises, We did one game of Rippa Rugby. The Game was really one-sided because all the tough and strong boys who had a lot of experience were on one team, and all the regular boys were on the other team.
After 2 or 3 months, School began again. As soon as I went through the gates, I started thinking about Rippa Rugby. I had some fun doing the last session, but not fun enough to be that memorable. After 4 days, The next session began. The walk was exactly the same as it was 3 months ago. Once again, Panmure Bridge and Tamaki Primary.
The session was pretty much the same as the last one except the exercises were much harder. The arguing from the boys escalated too far, So five boys were sent home. My favourite exercise was the 3 v 2 matches . Two people would defend and Three people would attack. Like last time, We had a Rippa game at the end, This time it was draw
That’s basically all so far so bye
:)
